Hello there and welcome to the pedalling world. This blog is all about bicycles. So if you have a bicycle, dumped a bicycle cos of some little look-big repairs, or you want to know more about bikes and the latest technologies, Tata you've come to the right place.
A lot of people here in Nigeria do not know the value of a bike until they've priced it (a new one), and they'll be like wow "I didn't know it is this expensive". But don't be afraid there are loads of fairly used bikes that can be gotten at a very affordable price. I can remember buying my first imported fairly used bike for just N28000. Really cheap right? But I think it's a lot cheaper these days.
Bicycles play a very vital role for us cyclists, it's saves money for the commuters and also improves health and fitness definitely. All it needs Is a little care and you might not need to go to the gym to reduce fat anymore and wouldn't necessarily need to trek or spend money on motor cycles, tricycles and busses. So in the long run it saves you loads of cash.
There are different types of bicycles mainly depending on the terrain. We have the road bikes, mountain bike, hybrid etcetera. Most people see the mountain bike as more appropriate considering our bad roads while some people prefer the light road bikes. It now depends on how you maintain whichever one you have to save money (which also involves guarding it from theft! Cos guys are not smiling).
As a cyclist, you have to be extra careful especially on our Nigerian roads, you can not continue your fun with your legs broken so always try to keep yourself on the safer side and avoid doing stunts on the road, use cycle lanes where provide (although some of them have been turned into commercial lanes). Safety should be your number one priority as a road user.
I'm going to be posting tips on maintenance, repairs, safety, bicycles generally and so on. Don't miss out and if you got any problems with your bike or any contributions, feel free to use the comment box. Can't wait to hear from you!
Welcome once again to the pedalling world.
